The description of the role is described below-
Resolve technical issues;
Develop, plan, organize, and carry out pavement evaluationsand investigations, and geotechnical investigations for municipalroadway / infrastructure projects;
Write and review / approve reports and specifications, prepareproposals, and make presentations;
Adhere to project budgets and objectives;
Provide technical supervision of field inspection andtesting staff at construction sites and in the office;
Perform senior review of detailed engineering analysis,design and reporting for assigned projects;
Participate in internal and external project meetings; and
University Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering;
A minimum of 3 years of work related experience including pavement engineering, geotechnical engineering, pavement management and construction;
Member of Professional Engineers Ontario (P.Eng.);
Experience completing pavement designs and evaluations of flexible (asphalt concrete), rigid (portland cement concrete), composite (asphalt concrete over portland cement concrete) and gravel-surfaced pavements;
Experience preparing pavement design and pavement evaluation reports;
Demonstrated competence in structural design of highway, airport and municipal pavements using current pavement design methods and software (AASHTO DarWIN, MEPDG, KenPAVE, etc);
Expertise in pavement condition assessments including analysis of FWD, smoothness and friction data;
Extensive knowledge of pavement construction methods, materials and specifications;
Experience in geotechnical related work such as site investigations, design of shallow foundations and on-site review of construction activities (asset);
Familiarity of engineering practices in the Ontario market;
Proven success in managing and executing project engineering investigations and research, conducting evaluations and analytical work;
Ability and willingness to travel (short term) within Canada;
Fluent English, written and spoken;
Ability to demonstrate that you are well organized, show initiative and are eager to learn.
