Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral position in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, with a possibility for a third year.
The successful applicant will work on swine nutrition, with particular emphasis on feed ingredient science and the role of nutrition on gut health and function.
The successful applicant will be based at the University of Manitoba and will join the research group of Dr. Martin Nyachoti.
This post-doctoral fellowship will be involved in the preparation of animal use and experimental protocols, collection and statistical analysis and interpretation of experimental data, and preparation of research reports and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
The primary activities will also include : Presenting research results at conferences or producer meetings; Helping with the coordination of research activities in the lab, including assisting graduate students with their thesis research projects.
Qualifications : - Recent Ph.D. degree (within the past 3 years) in nonruminant (swine) nutrition;- An adequate familiarity with the various research techniques used in these areas.
The exact start date will also depend on the state of the COVID-19 pandemic and public health guidelines in Manitoba. The salary will be between $35,000 to $40,000 CAD per year plus benefits, depending on qualifications and seniority.
