Responsibilities Summary :

Answering to the Food & Beverage Manager, position’s responsibilities and essential functions include, but are not limited to :

  • Offer and maintain very high standard customer services ;
  • Explore continuously new and creative ways to improve customer services;
  • Analyze VOG results to increase service quality;
  • Regular implication in operations and take steps to insure the coordination between catering and banquet departments;
  • Manage and train banquets managers team;
  • Insure department’s cost-effectiveness in accordance to Fairmont’s norms;
  • Follow-up banquet’s yearly budget, capital plan and strategic projects;
  • Efficiently develop relationships with employees and keep harmonious work climate
  • Insure development, growth and personal satisfaction of all managers and employee in accordance to politics implemented by Fairmont;
  • Insure all employees’ formation on adhesion policy by company and hotel regarding alcohol service;
  • Stimulate intern communication inside the team and in between departments
  • Insure execution of Fairmont Hotel’s banquets standards and its conformity;
  • Overwatch maintenance of alcohol control systems and continuously review processes;
  • Elaborate work schedules and review labor needs in function of affluence and make employees’ paychecks;
  • Promote and insure a clean, functional and safe working environment in continuously making health and safety prevention;
  • Insure equipment maintenance and material storage.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bilingual in French and English;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in hospitality; three of which in supervising catering and banquets in large scale institution;
  • Hospitality and / or university diploma, an asset;
  • Organization skills and capacity to work in an under pressure environment;
  • Good computer science skills (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Opera software knowledge, an asset;
  • Prior experience in restauration management.
