We are currently looking for an Assistant Controller / Senior Financial Analyst, Group After Sales (Contract) at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON
As an experienced and dynamicfinance professional with strong business acumen to navigate the complexitiesof a large international organization, you will assist in the full-cyclefinancial planning process for the After Sales Business of the Volkswagen andAudi Brands.
Your strong communication and influencing skills will be utilizedto ensure financial requirements are communicated to stakeholders and internalstandards are followed.
Reporting into the Group After SalesController, you will maintain monthly reporting for an integrated reportingsystem that ensures a fast, consistent, and transparent controlling process tosteer the After Sales Business of the VW and Audi Brands in Canada.
Thefunction will support achieving a successful overall financial plan and willhave a direct impact on company profitability.
Primary Responsibilities :
Responsible for preparing and analyzing the month warranty reserves (VW and Audi)
Report preparation for weekly and monthly parts results and KPI’s
Responsible for information needed for planning round development (VIO / POLK data)
Assists After Sales Controller in Planning Round and Budget development, as well as commitment control using check and balance procedures, four-eye-principles, and early warning processes :
Responsible for margin analysis, capital and admin requirements.
Responsible for developing the initial P&L for the 5 year forecast period.
Maintains and publishes the Planning Round and Budget assumptions.
Monthly variance analysis of key figures for Parts, Warranty and Vehicle Admin
Provide timely and accurate management reporting for each Brand and the NSC (National Sales Company).
Monitor monthly performance and adjust forecast (admin, capital).
Maintains and updates NSC actual and forecast models (P&L, Balance Sheet).
Assist in preparation of Financial Review and Supervisory Board meeting material
Completes reports monthly or as required (Headcount, KPI’s, Capital)
Hold Budget Custodian meetings to discuss area’s performance (trends, forecasts, risks & opportunities) and possible actions to drive the business forward, update SAP budgets as required.
Review of all financial commitments submitted for Finance approval for marketing :
SAF's (spend approval forms)
Payment requests and invoices
Vehicle and Capital PARs (project appropriation requests)
Payment of various invoices (Rogers wireless, Shell, etc)
Ad hoc reports as required
Corporate Vehicle Services processes and reporting
What we’re asking for :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or Business; Master’s degree and / or Accounting designation an asset
3-5 years’ relevant accounting experience; controllership experience within large international organization preferred
Expert understanding of MS Office (particularly Excel & PowerPoint); SAP and Business Objects experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and through presentations in order to influence and negotiate
Strong analytical skills and ability to dissect complex financial processes and identify risks and process improvements
Ability to respond quickly to changing environment
Team player that works well under daily and monthly deadlines
Strong understanding of automotive segments & automobile industry trends
Business acumen to understand large, complex organizations and ability to interact with all levels of an organization
