Position : Broadcast Media Technician, Dome Productions
Location : 2164 Buckingham, Oakville (Ontario)
Salary : Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work : 37.5 hours per week. Weekend work required (rotation)
Working at Dome Productions Oakville location, the Technician position focuses on the Logistic and Engineering priorities of Dome Production Warehouse.
Perform maintenance on a broad range of technical equipment. Works to resolve and process service requests for Engineering Maintenance as directed by Maintenance Leads.
Works to develop knowledge of the equipment, technology and the television production industry.
Participates in preventative maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability, performance and longevity.
Participates in asset management of technical equipment located on the mobile facilities and in the Warehouse.
Evaluates and understands equipment lists for event additional requirements to formulate preparation steps in advance of shipping.
Accessing Domes inventory of technical equipment in the Warehouse : pick, pack and prepare inventory for shipping as per specified event requirements.
Processes and reflects progress made on event additionals lists in Dome’s electronic system.
Unpack and restore to stock location all inventory upon event return including processing of defective equipment and electronic check-in verification.
Works closely with various Engineering and Logistic team members on daily plans, priorities and problem resolution.
Prioritize multiple tasks occurring on the same day. Gather required knowledge from leaders and other coworkers to ensure that the correct priority is given to each event.
On a daily basis, act as the Receiver for the Warehouse. Collaborate with the appropriate parties to review expected deliveries.
Ensure inbound shipments are processed according to Dome policies and procedures.
On a rotational basis, provide weekend coverage, ensuring that all emergency / last minute engineering and logistic requests are resolved.
Required Qualifications :
College degree or University degree related to technical engineering and / or Television Broadcasting required.
Ideally, 1 year of experience working in the technical aspect of television production or operational experience with demonstrable awareness of the broadcast environment.
Valid G Class driver’s license required.
This position requires the ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work under general supervision with willingness and ability to expand knowledge in an ever advancing industry.
Reliable follows through on instructions / directions. Knows when to elevate issues.
Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills.
A detailed oriented team member with strong customer service and the ability to participate in high functioning teams.
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment and deal with emergencies as they arise.
