Reporting to the Manager, Withdrawal Management / Wellness / ORT Clinic services - Mental Health & Addictions, or designate, the Registered Nurse / Rehabilitation Counsellor participates as an active member of the treatment team while maintaining professional autonomy as supported by the Standards of Practice defined by the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.
The Registered Nurse / Rehabilitation Counsellor is responsible for the provision of optimal client care, client teaching and supportive counseling, and recognizes and addresses the needs of the client’s family members when carrying out the responsibilities of assessment, treatment planning, withdrawal management and discharge planning.
The Registered Nurse / Rehabilitation Counsellor exhibits sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the Mission, Vision and Strategic Directions of the Program and incorporates into daily practice the Core Competencies and Values of the organization.
