JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, performs the most complex and highly varied machining operations by performing the following duties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzes complex blueprints, engineering specifications and general engineering instructions to plan.
  • Set-up and execute work assignments.
  • Sets-up and operates the complete range of machine tools including lathe, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, polishing equipment, etc.
  • Machining assignments include the design and construction of tools, dies and fixtures required to machine experimental parts.
  • Assignments are highly varied and require a considerable amount of independent judgment and coordination with developmental engineers.
  • May provide technical guidance to other personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and three years related experience and / or training;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Red Seal Machining Certificate
  • Previous experience running conventional Mills and Lathes
  • Previous experience editing and maintaining CNC programs
