Brand Management is at the core of what we do within the Consumer Brands group, and a fundamental training ground for those looking to build their Marketing careers, and leadership capabilities.
The strategic components that are required to build and manage our Owned Brands are an essential part of differentiating Canadian Tire as a retailer in the Canadian marketplace and beyond.
Given the General Management nature of Brand Management, there is significant interaction with key cross-functional partners, notably Customer Insights, Product Development, Merchandising, E-Commerce, International, Strategic Marketing and Quality Assurance.
The Brand Consultant role is a great entry point to learn the principles of brand management, how to build and sustain strong brands, and execute action plans to achieve short- and long-term goals.
What You’ll Do
The Brand Consultant will support the development and execution of annual and multi year brand plans, including shared growth and financial targets designed to build equity and strengthen the brands’ financial contributions.
This role will specifically support one of our owned brands across the Style, Cooking and Fixing businesses.
Other key responsibilities include :
Support the development of brand management processes and capabilities, including competitive analysis, architecture mapping, planning, measurement, standards and governance
Monitor brand financial performance through identification of key drivers in collaboration with business partners for monthly business review and support financial planning efforts
Support system alignment by integrating with Category Management, Product Development, Strategic Marketing, Packaging, Store Ops and other cross functional teams to support brand development
Support relevant external relationships such as partner agencies as required
Assists in new brand development or implementation by integrating efforts across cross functional teams
Guides packaging execution to ensure brand standards are met, while delivering break through of key features and benefits in support of a better customer experience
Analysis of data and insights generation, to drive strong recommendations in support of strategic brand planning efforts
Development of the product pipeline through the creation of Brand Assortment Plans
Monitors operational expenses and communicates to ensure projects are completed on budget
Integrates the brand team with legal and other cross functional teams as needed in support of trademark and / or intellectual property claims or disputes, and supports implementing action plans

What you’ve done
Post-secondary education in business and / or a related field. Summer / Dec 2021 New Grads.
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong analytical abilities, ability to build relationships, and strong project management skills and / or experience.
Demonstrated ability in analytical thinking and data-driven decision making.
Solid business acumen required Experience working on financial business cases.
Demonstrated ability to think creatively & strategically, with strong business mindset.
Proven ability to formulate recommendations based upon robust research, and assessment of risk / rewards.
Proven ability to collaborate and influence with key stakeholders
Strong presentation skills with ability to adjust style, content and format as required to suit the audience.
