    DEPARTMENT : People & Technology

    The People and Technology Department is comprised of three teams :

    The People & Strategy team manages recruitment, employee benefits, compensation, job evaluation, policies and procedures, rewards and recognition, training, employee engagement initiatives and supports the culture at Doctors of BC.

    The People & Strategy department will also support questions and concerns regarding team work or work environment.

    The Infrastructure team manages the physical assets of Doctors of BC related to the building, office equipment and maintenance of the building.

    The team also responds and provides resolution to any issues concerning office equipment, furniture and building maintenance.

    They also manage the internal and external mail, and take care of general office services and provide support to the tenants within the building.

    The Information Technology provides technical and software support and training to the employees of Doctors of BC. The IT department is a strategic business partner to further advance the interests of Doctors of BC through technology.

    THE TEAM : People & Strategy

    The People & Strategy team helps Doctors of BC attract, engage, and retain our most valuable asset - our people. With expertise in employment practices, workplace culture, recruitment, training and development, and benefits and compensation, this team supports the entire life cycle of our employees.

    We are a high performing team who move at light speed and are equipped to support the growth of Doctors of BC. The group is positioned as a strategic partner to the Association.

    THE JOB : Talent Acquisition Manager

    Reporting to the People and Strategy Manager, the Talent Acquisition Manager will be a key leader on the People & Strategy team.

    Working collaboratively with the People & Strategy team and hiring managers, the Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for leading all recruitment and hiring efforts for Doctors of BC.

    The Manager is an agile and experienced recruitment professional who will be a brand ambassador and will employ proactive methods to identify and attract talent to Doctors of BC.

    They will possess a commitment to team excellence and will spearhead projects to both develop and improve internal processes.

    They must be exceptional communicators, a self-starter, and great negotiators.

    In addition to full-cycle recruitment their mandate will include; special projects, analyzing and classifying new and existing jobs, and advising on succession and work-force planning for managers and their teams.

    They will work closely with the People & Strategy Manager and People & Strategy team to communicate progress, provide information, contribute to team projects and other duties as required.

    This role is fast paced, ever evolving and challenging. The incumbent will assess and anticipate organizational needs in regards to talent and succession planning and are excited by growth and can navigate through change.

    They understand the road to success entails strong relationships, a passion for understand the business and the ability to create flexible and creative solutions to tackle recruitment and branding through the lens of our organizational values.

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and / or recognized professional designation, such as CPHR, in related field, and up to six years of progressive and related experience or an equivalent level of related work experience in lieu of post-secondary education.
  • Previous experience as a Talent Acquisition Manager and Brand Specialist with a passion for sourcing top talent while working with team leaders to identify and develop internal talent is key
  • Experience with with job design, job evaluation and compensation assessment in order to ensure internal equity
  • Requires advanced knowledge of recruitment processes, talent branding, succession planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team and in motivating and guiding team members.
  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end, full-cycle talent acquisition in a dynamic, fast-paced environment required
  • Proven strategic recruitment experience including sourcing and developing talent pipelines through innovative recruitment
  • Solid understanding of classification and compensation practices, supplemented by strong communication and negotiation skills that to persuade others and reach consensus or resolve issues
  • Previous experience using and maintaining an electronic based applicant tracking system, UltiPro experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to collaborate with People & Strategy leaders to resolve strategic issues and resolve operational problems
  • Proven ability to develop a deep understanding of organizational growth strategy and associated talent needs both short and long-term and act as ongoing talent advisor and coach, providing strategic advice and education to hiring managers.
  • Ability to work independently on developing and coordinating annual and monthly departmental goals and objectives, attend and contribute to professional group meetings and stay abreast of new trends and innovations in HR / Recruitment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a complex environment with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Effective writing skills and proven ability to develop clear and concise communication
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC based software, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
