Position Summary :

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Director of FP&A to support strategic business decisions through financial models, forecasts, business and financial analysis, industry research, and special projects.

The ideal candidate will be a trained accounting or investment banking professional with excellent communication skills and proven leadership, looking to advance his / her career in a high-growth, entrepreneurial company where change happens on a daily basis.

He / she is hands-on and detailed-oriented but always understands the bigger picture , and can effectively influence others to achieve strategic objectives.

This position will be based out of downtown Toronto and will report to the Chief Administrative Officer.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and business planning across multiple business units and multiple geographies
  • Lead monthly functional department reviews with owners, investigate key variances
  • Responsible for all board, executive, and corporate reporting and preparation (business KPIs, key ratios, corporate scorecards, etc.)
  • Drive profit optimization opportunities in a post-merger environment (vendor negotiations and cost take outs, productivity analysis)
  • Analyze profitability by product / service / customer across the lines of business
  • Support investment decisions in new features, products, categories, or process improvements
  • Develop & improve pricing and margin models for existing and new products / services
  • Work with revenue function on deal pricing reviews, commissions reviews
  • Responsible for equity raise initiatives (material preparation, quality of earning audit, cost of capital analysis, due diligence)
  • Lead M&A initiatives for potential acquisitions
  • Implement process & tool improvements to support growth and scale within the finance department and across all operating units
  • Ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Skills & Competencies :

    This position requires someone with the following skills and background :

  • MBA or CPA designation
  • 10 years of professional experience including 5+ years in leadership capacity
  • Expert in Excel required, working knowledge in financial planning tools preferred
  • Experience in fast-paced, growing organization, preferably in SaaS-based tech
  • Experience with M&A activities & equity raise
  • This position requires someone with the following competencies :

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and systems
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to dig into an issue or problem with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Highly responsible with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with high work quality and ethics
  • Flexible team player highly adaptable and comfortable with change
  • Curiosity this person should not be content with status quo this position requires someone who is comfortable in recommending improvements to any and all processes company-wide.
