Reports to : General Manager

Position Type : 12 months (1 year) Contract, Full-Time, with the possibility to convert to Permanent, Full-Time position.

Summary :

The Software Engineer will be responsible for software design and development to create an ecosystem of integrated solutions for Sinclair’s IoT / smart products to enable critical wireless communications.

Responsibilities :

  • Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions for Sinclair’s IoT ecosystem.
  • Architect, design, and develop software solutions to support Sinclair’s products and solutions
  • Hands-on development of server-side and client-side applications with Java / .NET, RDBMS / NoSQL, and web technologies
  • Drive software engineering best practices and follow the software development lifecycle
  • Conduct technical evaluations for various software platform technologies
  • Work closely with product management to shape and effectively communicate solution roadmap
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
  • Keep current on technology trends
  • Qualifications :

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of working experience as a software engineer
  • Extensive software engineering development and design experience for complex, scalable, and highly reliable SOA solutions based on JAVA EE / .
  • NET and web technologies

  • Experience with web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)
  • Experience with both traditional RDBMS and NoSQL databases
  • Good understanding of OO programming and design patterns
  • Good understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, and PHP, as well as experience in cross-platform technology
  • Familiar with configuration management, e.g. Git, SVN, TFS
  • Knowledge in agile methodologies such as Scrum
  • Familiar with continuous integration with Maven, Jenkins, and Nexus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and handle the pressure
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to write technical specifications and requirements
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written and presentations)
