You will lead a team of professionals in the design and construction of large scale mining projects. The projects will be in various phases from conceptual planning, through design, construction, and occupancy.
Your Key Responsibilities
Project Management leading technical direction and execution of overall client initiatives with an integrated team approach.
Managing the development of all engineering deliverables including documents, drawings, tradeoff studies, and presentations.
Managing the development of a basis of Estimate and the CAPEX / OPEX for projects.
Managing the development of a basis of Schedule and the project schedule to contribute to the cost estimate for the project.
Interaction with project controls and associated reporting.
Regularly interface with the client regarding project status updates and expectations.
Ensuring that all designs incorporate safety elements for the construction and operation of all components of the work Completion of all project deliverables on schedule and budget.
Provide project status updates as well as budgetary information and remediation plans where necessary.
Account management and maximizing business opportunities within client accounts.
Interfacing with other groups as required, including Schedulers, Estimators, Procurement, and Construction Management representatives.
Supporting preparation of proposals and construction bid packages as required.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation Proven understanding of Projects Controls systems, and cost control practices.
role in projects with capital expenditure of $1M plus.
Leadership of project teams of 15 people, from various disciplines. Proven engineering expertise and competency in Mining projects and associated facilities.
Genuine team player who will encourage teamwork with the project team plus other discipline staff
High level of initiative and ability to complete tasks on schedule and budget
Focused on providing quality services to the clients in a timely manner
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Good problem-solving skills
Strong mentoring skills and desire to encourage junior staff
Familiarity with Canadian jurisdictions and their various acts and regulations.
Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng, Saskatchewan) designation is an asset.
Education and Experience
Preference given to Bachelors (or higher) degree in Engineering or equivalent with 8-15 years of consulting project management / mining / engineering experience.
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
and / or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation are assets.
