The Role :

  • Analyze payroll and benefits financial data to ensure it is posting correctly to the GL and identify / resolve issues where items which have not cleared
  • Analyzing and reconciling all payroll and benefit related GL accounts including payables, receivables and clearing accounts
  • Investigating discrepancies in GL accounts and clearing outstanding items in a timely manner
  • Responding to various audit queries including internal and external agencies
  • Project work including continuous development and enhancement of payroll accounting processes
  • The Ideal Candidate :

  • 3-5 years of Payroll work experience combined with accounting courses is preferred
  • Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner ( PCP ) certificate or in process preferred
  • Post-Secondary education in a related field is required
  • Pursuing a CPA designation would be considered an asset
  • Experience working in Workday and Finance modules
  • Advanced Excel skills : pivot tables, look-up tables etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple demands and meet deadlines without compromising accuracy or quality
  • Ability to work in an environment focused on process improvements
