As the Regional Immunization Leader with VCH you will :
Be accountable for leading, developing, planning and evaluating strategic immunization facilitation, and educational activities across all Communities of Care (CoC’s) of VCH.
Provide leadership and consultation to the team and as well in all aspects of immunization programs to advance the organization’s strategic priorities, while facilitating, maintaining and strengthening the organization’s relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Provide leadership for planning and decision-making competencies across VCH, as well as developing and strengthening core immunization competencies amongst all VCH vaccine providers (staff and community physicians).
Partner with other key stakeholders, including but not limited to British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), Ministry of Health Services (MOHS) and develop partnerships with other provinces / territories, non-governmental organizations, and coalitions to influence and build capacity to achieve program and organizational goals for VCH.
Develop policies and initiatives that support immunization framework within VCH.
Participate in provincial and regional level work, and identify trends and opportunities for collaboration with provincial and other HA stakeholders.
Work with the public health surveillance unit (PHSU) to monitor immunization-related diseases and reporting and make recommendations on future impact to the programming.

Education & Experience
Master’s Degree in Nursing or in a relevant discipline, plus a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of recent, related experience preferably in the field of public health, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge & Abilities
Broad knowledge of Public Health, Communicable Disease, and Immunization programs and initiatives.
Effectively utilizes, communication, facilitation, and education theories to coordinate planning, development and implementation of provincial immunization activities and events.
Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to achieve organizational program goals and development.
Effectively supervises designated staff, and fosters a respectful and motivating work environment where individual competencies can thrive.
Comprehensive knowledge of community development process, strategies, and communication, education and behaviour theories.
Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and applies expert written, verbal and presentation skills to effectively communicate concepts to a variety of audiences.
Works effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and is results oriented.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
