The Institute for Better Health has a new position for a Science Associate II to work in collaboration with clinical leads and other scientists at THP to design, develop, support and conduct particular research initiatives.
Science Associate positions are early career roles on the scientist track at IBH in preparation for independent investigator roles, reporting to the Chief Scientist and to the relevant PIs for specific initiatives on a day to day basis.

Science Associate General Responsibilities :
Science Associate Specific Roles (Ophthalmology and Surgery projects) :
This position will work on two new projects as described below.
Ophthalmology electronic Cataract Appropriateness and Priority System (eCAPS) + other projects
Working with the Ophthalmology team, including Dr. Ike Ahmed and Dr. Matt Schlenker, we are seeking a Science Associate who will develop and support the Ophthalmology research program.
Relevant research domains include health services outcomes and evaluation, health informatics, health technology assessment, health policy, and implementation science / knowledge translation.
This is an opportunity to work at the frontline with patients, clinicians and administration to develop an electronic appropriateness and prioritization system for patients with cataracts.
Other domain areas include Ophthalmology service delivery, post glaucoma surgery functional outcomes, patient perceptions of glaucoma therapy, among other projects.
The projects in this portfolio will have direct impact on the delivery of care.
Robotics Evaluation Project Evaluation
Working with gynaecologic and urologic oncology teams, we are seeking a Science Associate to help develop, implement and conduct an evaluation of a robotics initiative in surgery to assess patient / family as well as healthcare professional experiences and outcomes associated with the implementation of processes and changes in service delivery.
