What you’ll do
Prepare, analyze and distribute preliminary and final retail & department financial statement packages to department heads
Design and production of automated custom financial statements, inclusive of adjustments to the canned statements, representative of retail location performance and cash contribution
Organize store continuity schedules, sales, margin, expense and inventory details for monthly and quarterly reporting
Track ongoing capital expenditures and reconcile to accounts payable records periodically
Create banner and department expense analysis for distribution to key employees
Build forecasts modelling sales, expenses, capital expenditures and liaise with the Finance department to ensure the Corporate Operations department is in line with targeted performance
Support the business with a fully analytical skillset, including developing operational reporting and executive dashboards, providing analysis, conclusions and recommendations
Lead data and data mining efforts, translation of data into actionable insights
Present findings to all levels of the organization’s leadership in an understandable and compelling manner
Optimize tasks to increase efficiency and accuracy, include driving the design of automation for the business

What you bring
5+ years of experience in a corporate finance and / or analytics-based environment
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
Knowledge of database management and / or data visualization software would be considered an asset
Hands-on experience using business intelligence and statistical analysis tools such as R, Cognos, Micro Strategy, Knime, Alteryx or other, familiarity with relational databases and SQL
Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources and big data environments
Experience in use of Peoplesoft 9.2 Accounting software or Hyperion Financial Management reporting tools would be considered an asset
Excellent communication and oral presentation skills, comfort presenting to senior management
Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; can see the "big picture" in a complex business environment
Retail experience would be considered an asset
Progress towards an Accounting Designation (CMA, CGA or CA) or enrolment in those programs would be considered an asset
