An oasis close to everything, Pleasantview Townhomes is 216 units that sit on 22 acres of well-manicured open and treed space.

Our comfortable 2, 3, and 4-bedroom townhomes are walking distance from schools, one of Edmonton's major shopping centres (Southgate Centre) and major transit routes, and a short ride away from the University of Alberta and the lively Old Strathcona neighborhood.

Townhomes have four appliances (five in newly renovated suites) and include one parking stall.

Position Overview

This is skilled repair and maintenance work of considerable variety. The Maintenance Manager is often the single most responsible party for resident retention.

Not only does the Maintenance Manager play a key role in the resident's comfort and safety, there often includes more interaction with the residents than any other on-site personnel.

It is therefore essential that the Maintenance Manager portray a professional, courteous, and "We Care" attitude while on the job.

This position reports to the Site Manager and will have 1 or more employees directly reporting to them.

Work Hours : Monday to Friday 8 : 00-5 : 00 pm. Weekends and overtime as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance trades as they relate to the residential site. Including, but are not limited to : appliance repairs, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in building and maintenance trades.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and security standards for a residential site such as fire regulations
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and precautionary measures related to the building and general maintenance trades, and the Occupational Health and Safety Association
  • Knowledge of structural aspects of apartment and townhome communities is beneficial.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of supervision and the ability to apply them
  • Ability to give instructions in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to detect and respond to emergency situations
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Basic understanding of mathematics
  • Ability to follow instructions in a clear and concise manner
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents and be proficient in spoken and written English communication skills
