Our prestigious downtown client is looking for a User Experience Researcher to join their team. On this team the role of a User Experience Researcher is to help everyone focus on the user.
You will create understanding and empathy around user needs, stated and unstated, for your entire product team including designers, product managers, and developers.
You will do so by conducting primary research, exploring the behaviors and motivations of our users through methods like interviewing, ethnography, usability testing and surveys.
Your research will help us create useful, usable, and delightful new products and features for people as well as continually innovating on our existing products.
As part of our group, you will have the chance to work not only with the other UX Researchers on the team but work and learn from Interaction Designers, Visual Designers and Content Strategists through collaborative project work, design critiques, learning sessions, and access to our UX library.
ResponsibilitiesCollect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, and other online experiments.
Lead projects end to end : develop scripts and screeners, recruit, moderate, analyze, synthesize and deliver results.Communicate strengths and shortcomings of different research methods with wider team of Product Owners and Designers, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
Empower colleagues on the wider UX team by supporting them in their own research efforts.Recruit and maintain lists of targeted research participants from internal and external sources.
Participate in the development of the team through knowledge sharing and contributing to the UX team assets (e.g., Design System, blog, hosting lunch and learns, etc.
QualificationsMinimum qualificationsDegree in Human Factors, Psychology, HCI / Computer Science, Anthropology, or other related fields or equivalent practical experience.
Experience conducting semi-structured interviews, contextual field visits, usability studies in-person and remote (e.g. Userzoom or usertesting.
com).Experience integrating user research findings into product designs.Experience with using UX metrics and quantitative usability studies to measure the effectiveness of designs.
Preferred qualifications : Experience with applying lean UX methods, design thinking, and ideation techniquesAbility to interpret data trends in conversions, pageviews, and other user actions to identify opportunities and guide UX design.
Experience synthesizing findings into assets such as personas, experience maps, and storyboards.Experience with survey design (ie : Qualtrics) and experimental design.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
