With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will :

  • Collect payments for various services and programs that the City of Edmonton provides, such as ETS, Bylaw, Community & Rec, Permits & Licensing & Taxation
  • Disperse passes, tickets and permits, handle cash and all media types, record sales and inventory and prepare daily reports, reconciliations and deposits
  • Provide explanation / information of City policies, program specifics and eligibility, products and services, to citizens
  • Process and manage all lost and found articles, identify the owner of lost articles and dispose of unclaimed articles in accordance with City policy
  • Answer phone calls and log all voicemails while determining viable solutions in a timely manner
  • Digitize records, classify and upload authenticated versions to POSSE, complying with PCI guidelines
  • Receive, sort and document incoming couriered packages and internal / external drop-offs for accurate distribution and notify recipients
  • Process permits, book inspections, create notification ad, call out for payments, compliance and encroachment send-outs and update contractor changes
  • Greet all customers approaching the counter, while processing all citizen requests with a genuine desire to help and strong customer focus, remaining sensitive and adaptable to the unique needs of our diverse clientele
  • Qualifications

  • Grade 12 including business subjects with an emphasis in administrative practices OR completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school or college (ex.
  • records management, accounting, business administration)

  • 2 years diversified experience in general office practices and procedures, including experience with assisting in the instruction of less experienced staff, customer service, cash handling, computer applications is required
  • Knowledge of or experience with inventory management, Payment Card Industry Standards, FOIP, Data Security Standards and Records Management Guidelines is required
  • Experience working with ETS, Bylaw, Recreation, Permits & Licensing and Taxation programs, is an asset
  • Working knowledge of the City and area, including the ability to read and interpret maps and routes is an asset
  • Experience and ability to learn quickly and utilize software including iNovah, RAMs, POSSE, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Hosted PCI, SAP CRM, CISCO, eSirius and Google Applications is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to create seamless and positive experience for the customer, while working within the parameters set out in policy, procedure or program requirements
  • Good judgment in relation to security practices in a public facing office
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in the context of a respectful, inclusive and service-minded context
  • Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
