Summary :
Hatch and Bantrel have formed the Hatch Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute engineering and construction on the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project in Saskatchewan.
After successfully completing the Definition Phase Study for the project, the HBJV is currently carrying out the Detailed Engineering Phase for the Processing, Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) and Mining Areas of the 4.
5 Mtpa Stage 1 Potash Mine. With a published TIC of US $5.3-5.7 Billion this will represent one of the largest projects and private investments in Canada.
The HBJV will use a hybrid of best-in-class new developing technologies and systems as well as the proven HBJV suite of tools to execute this exciting project.
The Construction Technical Services Manager reports to the Jansen Site Manager and provides supervision, management and oversight for Field Engineering, Technology, ICT and Site Quality functions for all site-based work scopes.
The Construction Technical Services Manager is also accountable to facilitate the regulatory interfaces with the required authorities relative to site execution activities on the Jansen Project.
Please note this a site position with a 14-days on, 7-days off rotation. Camp accommodations are provided at the Jansen camp facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities :
Provide leadership, management, and supervision to the Technical Services team on the Jansen site
As part of the site management team, demonstrate commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental goals as well as foster development of the HSE culture
Manage and oversee the team objectives, procedures, processes, and metrics to deliver as sold
Accountable for the hiring decisions through facilitating interviews and identifying appropriate candidates for the team
Ability to foster an inclusive environment for their team while grounding to the Jansen core values
Set priorities for the team, manage the team to ensure commitment to deadlines, and work in a fast-paced construction site environment
Prepare and manage resource staffing, budgets, and schedules
Engage with the appropriate regulatory bodies to facilitate an efficient site execution program
Increase business value through data-driven process enhancements
Drive performance excellence through analysis of data to meet project KPI’s and enhance the overall construction productivity program
Daily interface with all other Site Management functions to ensure an efficient program execution.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
A recognized bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
Ability to foster an inclusive environment for their team while grounding to the Jansen core values
Minimum of 15 years of EPCM execution experience
A professional Engineering license valid in Province of Saskatchewan is seen as an asset
Demonstrated experience managing large teams within site construction functions
Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in field engineering processes and procedures
Strong background in the application of technology in the management of construction processes
Demonstrated experience with digital project delivery systems in the construction environment
Strong understanding of quality management processes and systems, ISO standards and auditing processes related to major project delivery or program management
Proven experience in project turnover & handover requirements during Construction and Commissioning phases
High attention to details as well as motivation and commitment to quality outcomes
Demonstrated ability to learn and quickly comprehend new concepts and technologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including functional managers and discipline leads on the project, clients, outside vendors and construction contractors
