BBA has a new opportunity for an intermediate structural designer in Vancouver office to support our projects in the heavy industrial sector

  • Prepare plan, elevation and General arrangement drawings
  • Develop design details
  • Ensure quality control of drafters’ work
  • Assess the client’s satisfaction and maintain a close relationship with the client and their representatives
  • Create BOM’s and reports
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and Advanced Steel
  • High knowledge of on-site safety
  • Knowledge of quality system procedures and directives
  • Basic knowledge of a second language will be considered an asset
  • Verify onsite condition and dimensions related to existing facilities
  • Preform conceptual layout work

  • Requirements

  • Structural engineering technician / technology diploma from a recognized college
  • 5 - years structural design experience on Mining projects / heavy industrial projects and / or related design experience
  • Experience with MicroStation, Navisworks and / or Civil 3D is an asset
  • Preparing drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and / or wood structures using AutoCAD / Advance Steel
  • Revit and point cloud experience considered an asset
  • Interpreting complex drawings that incorporate interfacing structural design requirements with piping / mechanical, electrical and other aspects of industrial work
  • Drafting and design experience within a consulting engineering environment
  • Check 2D drawings and 3D models for clashes and constructability with other disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of preventive measures, health and safety rules at work and hazardous material regulations in the workplace
  • Show creativity and innovation in problem-solving
  • Adhering to established design guidelines and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate design files for reference purposes
  • Advanced knowledge of computer-aided design
