    Our newest product, Alto, is a scientific instrument for the biotechnology research and drug discovery industry. It provides detailed information on molecular interactions using optical nanosensor technology known as localized surface plasmon resonance (SPR).

    It is the first SPR instrument on the market to incorporate Digital Microfluidics technology which has disrupted an industry that has been primarily dominated by highly expensive and complex instrumentation.

    We recently raised to boost development, sales and marketing initiatives for Alto.

    About the Job :

    We are looking for a passionate Field Application Scientist with a strong desire to be a part of our growing company. You will be responsible for developing and demonstrating applications of our SPR instruments to help scientists get the data they need.

    You have a passion for travel and are excited by visiting top research labs all across North America. You will work closely with the sales, and customer success teams to build strong customer relationships through working with researchers on their projects.

    Our ideal candidate has an advanced science degree and 1+ years of experience selling and / or demonstrating scientific capital equipment.

    Experience working at a small, fast-growing company would be an asset. Experience with SPR is not required but would be an asset.

    What you will do :

  • Organize and perform virtual and onsite product demonstrations of Nicoya’s SPR solutions
  • Travel to prospective customers to help them integrate SPR into their projects
  • Perform preliminary sample testing projects for prospective customers, and write sample analysis reports outlining the results from the project
  • Troubleshoot experiments to enable a positive user experience with Nicoya’s products throughout their buyer’s journey
  • Provide preliminary training to researchers on how to be successful in their projects with Nicoya’s products
  • Design and perform virtual and in-person customer-facing presentations to small and large audiences, composed of the world's leading researchers
  • Travel to tradeshows to talk to prospective customers alongside our sales and marketing teams
  • Communicate and collaborate with the sales team to accomplish goals
  • Perform SPR experiments in-house to develop customer-facing resources alongside our dedicated Customer Success team
  • Our ideal candidate has :

  • Hands-on experience running standard biochemical and biophysical analysis techniques
  • Willingness to travel to exciting new locations across North America
  • 1+ years of experience in a sales role for scientific instruments or other technical products
  • Excellent communication and customer relation skills
  • Ability to operate with minimal direction and supervision
  • Strong desire to work with people in a variety of situations
  • An enthusiastic attitude while demonstrating dedication to hard work Ability to perform under pressure, able to adapt to last-minute changes
  • Previous experience in academic, industrial research or development setting
  • Previous experience with CRM software
  • Has excellent organizational and time management skills to be able to perform a wide variety of tasks effectively
