Temporary Regular Part Time (Until Approximately March 31, 2020)
The Runner / Screener is a first point of contact who screen, greet, and direct inquiries from patients and staff who enter Stevenson Memorial Hospital.
Using a screening tool, this position is responsible for screening person(s) who are entering the hospital. Using sound judgement, the screeners must identify signs, symptoms, and travel of individuals, which may result in access being denied.
To ensure that all individuals entering the hospital, follow proper policies and procedures set out by the hospital.
Ensuring proper personal protective equipment is utilized for all staff and visitors and making sure proper hand hygiene is being conducted.
Screening of all individuals entering the hospital is conducted, by following set guidelines and screening questions on the Covid-19 Screening Form.
If necessary, and using your judgement skills, refer individuals on for further screening.
Assist visitors entering the facility to get to their planned destination, while being able to answer questions in a professional and caring manner.
Ability to sustain current legislation and knowledge of Covid-19 processes, polices and procedures.
Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information.
Assist in the assessment centre as needed.
Obtaining information from patients, labeling swabs, and administrative duties, such as : photocopying, compiling charts, etc.
High school diploma (grade 12 or equivalent).
Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Sound judgement skills, flexibility and adaptability.
Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors and to stand for extended periods of time.
Problem solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work cohesively with a variety of people in a team environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidates must be able to work a variety of shifts (12 hour and 8 hour shifts), 7 days per week.
