The Environmental Assessment and Stewardship Branch is seeking a highly-motivated, results-oriented individual to fill the position of Senior Policy Advisor.

This position will provide qualitative and quantitative research, analysis and advisory support for the province’s environmental assessment and waste stewardship programs.

Our candidate of choice will possess broad-based skills including :

  • Strong research and analytical skills to assess complex matters and provide strategic options that align with branch, ministry and government priorities;
  • Effective written and oral communications skills to relay information, explain the rationale behind decisions, and persuade others to achieve goals or resolve problems;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to plan and manage work in an effective manner, track achievements, take corrective action and meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making skills to identify and address branch-related program issues and assess the potential impacts of decisions on public / client interest and concerns; and
  • Efficient collaboration and relationship-building skills to resolve problems, address and manage sensitive and differing needs and agendas of multiple stakeholders, and carry out branch business to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position would be acquired through a degree in environmental studies and sciences, public administration or related discipline, supplemented with an understanding of environmental trends in Saskatchewan.
