Our client is a boutique cannabis retailer providing customers with a locally curated experience. Stores provide an authentic, local, comfortable experience -

a place to gather. This is an opportunity to join a management team that brings high-end retail experience combined with extensive experience and relationships in the legal cannabis sector.

The Director of Retail will lead store operations and have oversight for store performance, providing leadership and ensuring growth and profitability.

He / she has a strategic viewpoint and understanding of the cannabis market paired with analytical ability. The Director of Retail has a strong aptitude for developing people and teams and demonstrates resilience and adaptability.

Responsibilities

Oversee store build-outs and ensure projects are on time and budget; oversee the launch of new stores

Oversee store real estate and leasing, provides input on new markets and stores

Oversee store design, layout and merchandising

Manage the financial performance of the retail stores and manages P&Ls

Oversee the customer experience and journey, ensure community development

Oversee retail store operations through the hiring and leadership of District, Community and Store Managers

Maintains an awareness of cannabis products and assists in the development of product strategy

Responsible for establishing and maintaining systems and procedures, forecasting, controlling costs and generating reports as required

Works closely with HR and other departments to ensure that our team is knowledgeable through training, and ready to meet the retail needs of our customers

Works closely with the Marketing team to ensure that promotions and campaigns are rolled out across retail stores

Participate in meetings with Executives and Senior Management on strategy and operations

Collaborates with the Executive team to identify business opportunities through analysis, market research, sales performance, and trends

Requirements

3-5 years experience of building a multi-unit, boutique service business

Experience in retail operations would be an asset

Minimum of 3 years in management, leading a winning team

Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset

Proven experience to develop people and build teams

Proven experience in managing projects and decision making

Must be adaptable and resilient

Must possess the ability to think both strategically, creatively, and analytically

Must have your own vehicle; travel to store locations will be required
