Role Impact :

To participate actively, in collaboration with the Specialty Leasing Team and General Managers, in the implementation of the Specialty Leasing strategic vision.

What You Will Deliver :

  • Assist the Senior Manager, Specialty Leasing in the preparation of an action plan for growing the Specialty Leasing and National Promotions program across Cadillac Fairview’s national portfolio of retail assets.
  • Execute on the targets set forth for the national promotions, regional promotions, temporary kiosk and carts programs for national retail assets.

  • Develop a strong knowledge of the market place and makes recommendations to the Senior Manager, Specialty Leasing on which retail trends could be a fit for each property.
  • Identify areas for new business and contact agencies, tenants, licensees to pitch opportunities for specialty leasing within Cadillac Fairview’s national portfolio of retail assets.
  • Leverage data and advanced analytics to identify opportunities for new business, new markets and revenue growth opportunities.
  • Communicate Cadillac Fairview’s strategic vision to potential tenants / clients by assisting them in their planning for brand activations and promotions.
  • Prepare and manage the annual Specialty Leasing revenue and expense budgets for national promotions, regional promotions, temporary kiosk and carts programs.
  • Deliver regular status updates and financial forecasts to the Senior Manager, Specialty Leasing on a national-level and property-level financial targets and any relevant risk exposure.
  • Ensure the revenues are entered as per the forecasted annual budget and produce a monthly report to General Manager and Senior Manager, Specialty Leasing.
  • Administer all Specialty Leasing, National promotions accounts during the year.

  • Lease to quality and unique retail concept while ensuring first class standards are met.
  • Negotiate Specialty Leasing new deals and renewals through discussions regarding needs and Shopping Centre performance in order to maximize revenue without compromising the merchandise mix and shopper experience, and to forecast future revenue.
  • Coordinate and monitor all Specialty Leasing activities in the property.
  • Provide regular updates on status of key accounts and files to the General Manager and Specialty Leasing Manager.
  • Research market for opportunities; gather all pertinent information to enhance the value and quality of Specialty Leasing Program.
  • Identify opportunities for new concepts and development and review market demands to get the most viable and dynamic tenants.
  • Develop client relationships / contacts by visiting any companies that can fit in with the current strategy and organizing face-to-face meetings.
  • Develop marketing materials (packages) and sales collateral for all properties in Cadillac Fairview’s national portfolio of assets, setting the financial goals and reinforce the positioning statements of the properties.
  • Lead ongoing analysis of Specialty Leasing progress including but not limited to year-over-year progress analysis, occupancy analysis, key client rental growth analysis, etc.
  • Share out analysis templates with National Specialty Leasing team members for input of other region’s analysis.

  • Establish a leadership / influential role within the Specialty Leasing Team by way of : (1) running training programs for new team members, (2) actively tracking results and hold team members accountable for progress, (3) captain year-over-year analysis and occupancy analysis to influence Specialty Leasing Strategies

  • What You Need To Succeed :

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • University degree preferably in Business or Finance disciplines
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ related experience; Real Estate / Property Management / Shopping Centre industry is an asset.
  • Fully computer literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Aptitude for figures, analysis and budget preparation
  • Previous specialty leasing exposure in a retail environment is an asset.
  • Good understanding of property management is an asset
