Summary of Responsibilities :

Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Ensure the highest level of cleanliness in accordance with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards, policies and procedures
  • Effectively lead employee relations within the laundry department
  • Conduct monthly communication meetings and attend hotel meetings as required
  • Maintain a motivated and engaging team by actively working and following up on CES action plans
  • Communication & relationship building with suppliers
  • Handle guest concerns and follow up on action required
  • Conduct monthly communication meetings and ensure effective employee performance management
  • Health and Safety of all colleagues and guests
  • Promote team work within the department and ensure strong interdepartmental relationships
  • Plan, schedule, and hire all laundry colleagues by using Watson and TAS.
  • Train, coach and develop staff in accordance with hotel standards to ensure the best quality of service is offered to our internal and external guests
  • Maintain preventive maintenance program of all equipment and ensure timely repairs
  • Ensure the prompt courteous pick-up and delivery of guest laundry, deliver service according to the Fairmont & LQA Standards
  • Maintaining a strong relationship with the year round and seasonal laundry contracts in the town of Jasper
  • Prepare & monitor the annual Laundry operating budget including revenue streams, labor costs and operating supplies
  • Conduct quarterly rooms and food and beverage linen inventories and in conjunction with the Rooms Division and Food and Beverage Division Managers and place orders to ensure adequate supplies based on business levels
  • Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in a managerial role, preferable within a laundry or housekeeping environment
  • Valid driver’s license, able to drive a standard vehicle required
  • Knowledge of laundry equipment and cleaning products an asset
  • Able to work flexible hours over a 24 hour period
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • The passion and drive to train, coach and teach fellow colleagues and supervisors
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Visa Requirements : Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
