Miles HR has a Payroll Supervisor opportunity for large unionized government organization located in Burnaby. This opportunity offers excellent compensation and a stable work environment.

This is initially a long term 2 year contract with the potential of permanent employment.About You : You have supervisory experience in a payroll department and are experienced with collective agreements and government regulations.

You lead by coaching, mentoring, training and have performance management experience.You enjoy participating in the development of payroll and systems designed to support business process improvements.

You are experienced with year-end payroll processes and schedules.You thrive in a steady environment while embracing continuous improvement.

You are experienced in conducting analysis and research and report preparation for management.The Work : Supervises payroll processing and reconciliation of payroll, reconciliation of expense accounts, journal entries, benefits, general ledger interfaceEnsure payroll information on direct deposits and pay slips are accurateOversees processing deductions and remittances and payments to benefit carriers and government agenciesProvides day to day supervision and guidance, training and coaching to payroll support staffCoordinates and oversees annual payroll requirements including T4’s and T4’s, accruals, setting up pay schedulesOversees reconciliation payroll expense accounts and the preparation of month end accruals, journal entries, statutory deductions and year end adjustmentsQualifications : Minimum 3 years progressively responsible payroll administration experience in a unionized environmentExcellent knowledge of payroll processes, rules, regulations and systems related to payroll administration, scheduling and time keepingExcellent knowledge and experience with payroll related policies and proceduresSolid interpersonal and communication skillsProblem solving and strong decision making skills to identify and resolve payroll problemsAnalytical skills to diagnose payroll issues and provide solutionsLeadership skills to provide day to day supervision of support staffPayroll Compliance Practitioner CertificateIf you are interested in this 2 year contract with an excellent government organization offering great compensation please apply here now!
