About the Opportunity
Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH) is seeking a General Internist, with gastroenterology subspecialty preferred, to join the Internal Medicine group.
This position will function both as a general internist and gastroenterologist, with approximately 1.5 scope days per week allocated for upper and / or lower endoscopy.
The candidate will share in coverage of IM on call and ICU services. YRH is a community site for the Core Internal Medicine program at Dalhousie University with approximately 4-5 residents per year.
In addition, a fellowship program for the R4 and R5 fellows started in July 2019, which provides two fellows per year full-time.
Located in Yarmouth, YRH has 124 inpatient beds and provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient and satellite programs :
Compensation is fee for service with flexible vacation time. Endoscopy time is quite reasonable, with usually 1.5 days per week available.
In addition, specialists receive call stipends and other incentives as available through the Master Agreement of Nova Scotia.
Candidates must be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or eligible to take the Fellowship Exam in Internal Medicine.
Must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
