Position Overview :

As the Senior Project Manager, PMI, you will unlock and optimize the full value potential of acquired organizations or divested lines of business.

You will integrate or separate different functions, processes, systems and cultures while maintaining business momentum and positive customer and team member experiences.

Leveraging your business acumen and collaborative engagement approach, you will develop integration / separation plans that meet budget targets set in the pre-merger phase, support the implementation phase, and capture untapped value in the post-close phase.

Every merger, acquisition and divestiture is unique which will enhance your portfolio of experiences. In partnership with a diverse team, you will drive continuous improvements and best practices to deliver better business outcomes.

Responsibilities :

Project Management (50%)

  • Proactively develops detailed integration / separation plans in collaboration with key stakeholders within the transaction team, business unit and / or target organization;
  • Leverages key lessons learned from other projects

  • Ensuring PAI strategy and planning is aligned to strategic rationale for acquisition
  • Independently leads medium to large projects under supervision
  • Supports the Program Management Office in all program governance activities
  • Proactively works with Program and Project Managers to resolve issues and remove roadblocks across project teams; Proactively identifies potential issues before they negatively impact the project
  • Confidently leads and facilitates all status meetings - coordinate, book, prepare, monitor attendance, distribute materials, draft meeting minutes and update program documentation
  • Prepare accurate presentations and present strategic project status updates at Steering Team meetings, ELT updates and Full Monty as required
  • Creates and refines the project workflow through the necessary project lifecycle
  • Drafts integration / divestment process and process improvements
  • Coaching project manager and other junior resources to a level of proficiency expected; Responsible to oversee and correct deliverables from project managers and junior resources
  • Project Tracking & Reporting (50%)

  • Ensures electronic project documentation repository is up to date for all project documentation, business / technology documents related to the initiatives / projects / programs;
  • tracks and sets up deliverable process (sign-off, documentation)

  • Facilitates process to gather input and finalizes the program’s project close document which identifies, among other things, lessons learned to ensure continuous improvement to the integration / separation life cycle
  • Reviews and provides input to Executive Steering Team reports and presentations; Takes inputs from multiple areas / teams and consolidates in summarized strategic level leadership materials
  • Develops initial PMI project budget and ensures proper mechanism for gathering key inputs from all key stakeholders; Establishes effective process for proactively monitoring spending, released funds and adjusting budget outlooks accurately
  • Establish process to track and ensure familiarity with key project KPIs; Ensure accurate tracking of actuals; Lead and take ownership in the variance explanation process and drive the required activities to remediate any gaps
  • Required Knowledge :

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Required Skills & Abilities :

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact at all levels with clients and internal teams
  • Ability to manage changing priorities / tight deadlines effectively in a very fast paced environment; ability to navigate ambiguity, overcome confusion, and simplify complex situations
  • Effective at communicating information in written or verbal situations with clarity, and displays developing presentation skills to influence decisions
  • Effective at influencing others over whom they no direct authority, developing a variety of strategies with experience and exposure in different situations
  • Ability to quickly build credibility with all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record of influencing and motivating others over whom they have no direct authority
  • Creative problem solver and adapts in diverse situations
  • Experience with post-merger integration / M&A processes and principles
  • Displays the skills necessary to effectively develop and leverage a Commitment Based Management approach (e.g. delivers on commitments, does the right thing , displays and encourages honesty and dignity in self and others, takes accountability)
  • Required Professional Designation / Certification :

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or other discipline
  • PMP or equivalent designation
  • Required Experience :

  • 6-10 years in project management using project management methodologies, principles and practices
  • Experience with post-merger integration / M&A processes and principles
  • Knowledge of legal and contract management
