Description of Duties :

Text mining in research libraries : selected profiles Research libraries are increasingly offering support for text mining.

These services can range from episodic, such as assisting faculty with permissions or ongoing, such as dedicated centres w / designated staff that provide instruction, facilities, funding, technical and copyright support etc.

This position will research approaches at selected exemplars. Aspects to be examined include business and staffing models, staffing mix and complement.

This position supplements an existing environmental scan using web searching, library literature etc.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills :

Research abilities. Ability to write in a clear, concise manner.Ability to contextualize information arising from differing sources and institutional contexts Ability to work independently Familiarity with text mining and / or digital humanities preferred

Written profiles of selected exemplar text mining services including business model, service offerings and staffing (2-3 pages each, 7- 10 schools).

A written summary of findings in report style (1-2 pages)
