Hours of Work : 37.5 hours per week. Will include working evenings and weekends. Overtime as required.

Responsibilities :

  • Propose and develop original story ideas
  • Shoots material, gathers information, writes scripts and edits stories in packaged or voice-over form.
  • May perform anchoring and line producing as required.
  • Anchor weather about three days a week.
  • Other duties including weekend weather anchoring as assigned.
  • Write and post stories to our website, Facebook & Twitter.
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum of three year's television news experience in a daily news environment
  • Graduate of a recognized college or university journalism program or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with live presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide content to multiple digital platforms, including websites and social media (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
  • Experience with ENG camera and editing with non-linear equipment
  • Line producing and anchoring experience will be a preferred asset.
  • Strong team player.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity and curiosity
  • Creative storytelling skills and strong news judgement
  • Ability to work quickly and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Valid G Class driver’s licence and a good driving record are required.
  • Strong interest in weather and able to anchor weekend weather
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
