The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.

Your challenge! Our mill in Trenton, Ontario, located on the bank of the scenic Trent River, boasts a 93 year history. We are looking for a skilled Electrical Technologist to join our team.

Job Responsibilities Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role is responsible for, but not limited to the following : Troubleshoots, diagnoses, maintains control systems, networks and process control devices Assists in the inspection, testing, adjusting and evaluation of new control systems, instruments and drives and ensures they conform to company and industry standards Takes the lead in ensuring execution of preventative maintenance schedules and formulates new preventive maintenance activities for all control systems, instruments and process control equipment Utilizes the computerized maintenance management system for processing work orders, PM’s, purchase requisitions and updating the equipment databases Provides technical support for Production and Maintenance Takes the lead in root cause analysis of control systems and other related electrical equipment, the execution of electrical, instrumentation and automation of upgradation and new projects Supports divisional and corporate objectives including health & safety, productivity, continuous improvement, innovation, quality, waste and 5SIND2Operational Excellence Act as a technical resource person by making recommendations and suggestions for improvementCorporate Responsibility and Governance Comply with the ethical standards of Cascades’ and its business partners, and represent Cascades’ imageClient Focused and Innovation Apply the principles of excellence in line with our client-centric business visionCore competencies defined for this job Advisory roleContinuous improvementInitiativePlanning and organizingRigourTeamworkDesired experience Post-secondary education in an Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering Technologist program with C.

Tech / CET designation or the ability to obtain designation preferred 2-3 years of work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment Knowledgeable of Canadian electrical controls, standards and regulations relevant to the industry Proven experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens / Moore DCS, AC and DC drive systems and AutoCAD experience is preferredTechnical competencies Well organized with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team Knowledgeable of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and possesses a strong safety focus Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance management software Available and flexible to work in a fast-paced environment, be self-driven to meet or exceed targets and work a flexible schedule that includes planned, unplanned and on-call shifts as required
