Solicit supplier / vendor quotations and evaluate bids for either raw materials and / or finished goods. Review and evaluate the performance of approved vendors to ensure compliance and to ensure they are providing the promised level of service Analyze the production forecast and MRP data to ensure the timely procurement of raw materials used in the production of goods, in support of customer order requirements.
Coordinate and track the arrival of all materials needed for customer orders. Discuss defective or unacceptable goods with inspection or quality control personnel, Product Managers, vendors, and others to determine the source of the issue and take corrective action.
Expedite parts and follow up as necessary to expedite overdue orders or those with the potential of critical delays Maintain regular supplier contact with emphasis on results-
oriented relationships. Work with accounting to support any invoicing needs. Prepare purchase orders / bid requests and send copy to supplier and department originating the request to support new and existing product development.
Timely follow up on the status of PO’s and sample requests, to ensure on time delivery is met. Contribute to the reduction of inventory by working with suppliers to monitor, regulate, and liquidate materials.
Take corrective actions, when necessary, to support changing conditions in corporate demand. Manage inventory levels of raw materials and / or finished goods to avoid excess inventory Perform forecasting and data analysis on existing and incoming inventory, and predict / prevent stock-outs.
Diploma or degree in Operations Management, with a specialization in Procurement Minimum 5 years of work related experience Strong skills in buying either finished goods and / or raw materials Must be proficient in the use of a PC and software / applications related to the work (Microsoft Excel and Word, and materials management software such as SAP, BW, GDW) Good organizational skills with a pro-
active attitude. Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with various functional areas and vendor partners Proven ability to work well in a cross-
functional team environment Strong attention to detail, analytical, with the ability to make sound judgment decisions Ability to handle many situations simultaneously in a professional and courteous manner in a fast-
paced environment. Working knowledge of foreign trade and INCO Terms as well as contractual terms and conditions related to the purchase of finished goods Self-
starter that possesses strong skills in negotiations, analysis and problem-solving.
