Primary roles and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Drafting Supervisor, the General Arrangement Drafting Coordinator is responsible for all the activities related to the Overall mill general arrangement of new equipment at our clients’ location while respecting established rules. The role is :

  • Generate and update the project general arrangement from the Sales drawings
  • Make sure to get all standards and information required for the actual realization of the general arrangement drawing.
  • Verify general arrangement drawings to make sure there are no interference between machines.
  • Follow-up with the drafting team and project manager to make sure the project is evolving correctly.
  • Participate to design meetings and to the planning of the projects (deadlines, resources).
  • Visit clients from time to time to obtain certain field measurements.
  • Respect health and safety measures and general plant rules.
  • Qualifications and experience

  • A technical diploma in mechanical engineering or project management plus experience in industrial manufacturing. Different combinations of qualification and experience will be considered.
  • A background in sawmill would be an asset.
  • Experience with project general arrangement drawings
  • Management skills (planning, organizing, communication).
  • Basic knowledge of a manufacturing company and its equipment.
  • Skills with AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • SolidWorks would be an asset
  • Autonomy, analytical skills, efficiency, discipline.
