General Mine Superintendent (Senior Mine Engineer, Underground Mining)

Reporting only to the General Manager, this is a critical key-man senior-management opportunity at an exciting flag-ship mining project.

This is a very exciting time for our client as they unlock the value of the resource with transformational mine development plans ensuring a very profitable and long-term mine life.

  • Mine Superintendent’s key responsibility is to oversee the effective extraction of the ore body. The Mine Superintendent will also direct and manage all mine production activities including planning, budgeting, staffing, cost containment, and profitability;
  • analyze geological and engineering information to provide direction in the development of mine plans; and work with and coordinate the management team to determine the overall strategy for the mine.

    Our ideal candidate possess a Mine Engineering degree and holds a Professional Engineering designation within Canada (P.

  • Eng.); has 10+ years of mining experience (underground hard rock an asset), has 5+ years of senior management and leadership experience;
  • and has working expertise of underground mining methods and procedures. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability and to lead, mentor, and motivate individuals and teams at all levels of the organization is required.
