The Incident Reporting Centre (IRC) - is a specialized unit that was designed to establish and maintain an industry leading standard that uses cutting edge technology, process efficiencies and highly trained and motivated staff, as a central intake point and repository for all incidents and events that may impact Sun Life Financial operations.
Security Guard duties include;
Access control - minimize the threat to Sun Life employees and assets by restricting premises access to authorized persons during and after normal business hours.
This includes audits of; verifying card counts, restricted vs non-restricted area approvals, external / internal client tracking through maintenance of access logs, assist departments as directed or requested etc.
Perform security inventory audits (keys, radios, medical equipment)
Review previous shift reports / logs
CCTV monitoring and alarm dispatch
Emergency situations (fire, medical, violence) occurring within Sun Life Financial space or affecting Sun Life Financial property
Non-emergency security incidents occurring within Sun Life Financial space for example, theft of personal or company property
Suspicious activity or concerns about behavior that might affect Sun Life Financial
News reporting on current events and potential business impact.
Client escorts into restricted Sun Life Financial space.
Support global operations of the Incident Reporting Centre
Log management - shift briefing, incident report writing, contractor projects, visitor and employee access pass
The successful candidate will possess;
A post-secondary education in law, security or equivalent
A minimum one year of experience in a related field
Organizational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
A current First Aid / CPR certification
A valid security
The ability to obtain a dual license
Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of computer application packages; Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
