Our client is a multinational auto parts manufacturer with a healthy growing factory in need of new HR leadership and on a mission to continue the success of the existing positive culture achieved as part of the work process.

You will have a strong background in automotive or manufacturing generally with local responsibility for a medium scale facility with 140 employees in a union-free environment.

You are knowledgeable in LEAN, WCM and TPS support and have experience as facilitator or leader in the introduction of new management systems.

You are an avid advocate of continuous improvement methodologies and have a passion for excellence.in all HR and business initiatives.

Accomplished HR Managers, HRBPs and 'rising star' HR Generalists from world class facilities will be considered. You will bring a passionate, high level of energy to this position as well as an exceptional track record in the automotive industry.

KEY FUNCTION :

Development and Leadership of all Employee Relations activities for the plant in Bowling Green

REPORTING :

Under the general direction of the Corporate Director, Human Resources

DUTIES :

  • Assist in the Development and Implementation of the Organizational Development Strategy including ongoing tracking and monitoring of key Business / Employee objectives
  • Administer the Performance Management system including Succession Planning, Training and Development
  • Manage the locations Compensation and Benefit program ensuring ongoing internal and external equity and competitiveness
  • Administration the Pension and Benefits Plans as well as liaison with external consultants
  • Coach and Train the Leadership Team in all matters of Employee Relations including counselling of matters related to Employment and Common Law
  • Conduct internal investigations related to matters of Harassment and improper employee conduct
  • Manage the recruitment and onboarding activities for the operations
  • Lead payroll processing activities consistent with existing legislation and common law
  • Engage in and foster professional development of all staff and provide opportunities for learning within budgeted resources.
  • Represent the Human Resources department in meetings as required.
  • Ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors; investigate report, debrief and take or direct corrective action as appropriate on incidents.

  • QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING :

    1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College.

    2. SHRM Certification

    3. Management / Leadership Training or Certification

    EXPERIENCE :

    1. Minimum of 5 t0 7 years’ experience within the Human Resources profession

    2. Experience in Organizational Development planning and Implementation

    3. Extensive experience in Recruitment, Training and Development and Succession Planning

    KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES :

  • Strong Knowledge of current Employment Law both Statutory and Common
  • Advanced Knowledge of Training and Development systems
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, advice and teach others using the principles of adult learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue improvement.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and principles of management, conflict management and resolution, system needs analysis and organizational assessment.
  • Ability to use tact and discretion in dealing with customers, suppliers and employees.
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software, e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
