Health Standards Organization (HSO) is looking for an exceptional Storyteller to join the Marketing and Communications Team.

Our Marketing and Communications Team manages a variety of services, internal and external to the organization. We are in need of someone who is both doer and thinker, and who understands the art of effective storytelling and how to draw a reader in.

Let’s break it down. Your skills include :

  • Stellar writing skills; an understanding of newswriting techniques, ensuring that all information is accurate
  • Interviewing skills you know how to ask effective questions and develop a rapport with clients based on mutual trust
  • Keen sense of newsworthiness you know how to make a story interesting from the audience’s perspective
  • Storyboarding experience; an understanding of the effectiveness and appropriateness of story assets (text, images, audio, video) and how to combine them
  • Expertise in online platforms you know how to use content management systems for the web, e-newsletter services and social media, as well as web analytics and social media monitoring tools
  • Expertise in crafting an Editorial Calendar and in re-purposing valuable content across all platforms
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to coordinate and oversee content production, collection and distribution in a timely manner
  • Expertise in editing; able to effectively edit your own work as well as various other types of corporate documents
  • You have a unique history. Does it include the education and experience listed below?

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations
  • Bilingual (English / French) required. Additional languages are assets!
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience in effectively communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Technical chops : Adobe Creative Cloud, Canvaa, Pictochart, Wordpress CMS, Microsoft 365, MS Project, databases
  • Visual, audio and video content creation skills are assets!

  • Have a University or College degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
  • Have experience working in a communications / marketing agency
  • Are familiar with basic video shooting and editing
  • Have exceptional customer service experience in a team environment
  • Have knowledge of the health care environment, either locally or around the world!
