The Technical Project Manager / Project Engineer is a key member of the Field Engineering Team, providing a technical lead on major solution projects and support to the Field Service Technicians on small to medium projects.
Follows PMO processes for project management from initiation through to execution.
Develops detailed execution plans and schedules for complex multi discipline projects.
Communicates clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Negotiates changes and challenges with the best outcome for both the customer and Schneider.
Holds safety in the highest regard and ensures that all processes and procedures are actively followed and effectively plans projects in order maintain the highest safety standards.
Monitors, controls and constantly improves project costs, expenses and margins.
Reviews all projects for accurate scope and plan alignment and proposes value engineering opportunities.
Maintains accurate project financial forecasting and supports District Manager in project financial oversight.
Reviews electrical distribution and controls drawings for accuracy and provides input on improvements and economies.
Initiates and manages orders for LV / MV equipment including relays, switchgear, breakers, etc.
Develops bills of material for engineered to order equipment.
Closes out projects with complete document review and submission.
Supports consultant enquiries on product application and system design.
Provides support to service technicians, project teams and sales / quotation teams on technical inquiries.
Utilizes extensive experience of field work to accelerate project completion with testing and commissioning expertise.
Participates in supporting national network of field engineering specialists.
Finds opportunities in project execution and support to develop new business.
Skills & Qualifications :
Education preferred : Electrical engineering degree (P.Eng.) or Certified Electrical Technician (C.E.T.) or relevant curriculum such as, but not limited to, Master electrician, EET.
Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) an asset.
Must have at least 10 years of working experience with LV / MV Equipment, Protective Relays, and Breaker Technology including testing and commissioning.
Strong knowledge of electrical theory, distribution and protection & control.
Fault finding experience and excellence under pressure essential.
Strong resolve and clear thinking in high pressure situations.
Good time management and multitasking.
Great leadership skills and team building.
Autocad experience is an asset.
Advanced computer skills essential.
Clear communication essential and English / French Bilingual is an asset.
Drive for customer satisfaction.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as negotiation and influencing skills in a multicultural environment.
Available at a flexible work schedule (Evening and Weekend) with paid overtime.
Can travel around 10 to 20% of the time inside the country.
Have a valid driver's license.
Possess a passport or be eligible to obtain one.
Will be available to be audited for security issues by the government or companies.
