Description : The Training and Education Manager, under the direction of the Senior Management Group, is primarily responsible for overseeing all training and development activities at ESC Automation Inc.

The manager is responsible for the professional development of a varied and already highly competent technical workforce whose roles range from sales, engineering and software programming to electrical installation and project management as well as the creation and maintenance of onboarding programs for a diversified staff across North America.

  • The Manager is responsible for developing, updating, planning, and implementing training and development programs. Other responsibilities will include : collaborate with management staff to assess and facilitate employee training needs;
  • oversee performance of gap analysis, job analysis, and appraisal schemes; and regularly consult with management to identify training gaps.

    The Training and Development Manager will ensure all training and development programs are developed or purchased in a cost-

    effective manner, assessing the return on investment of all programs to ensure maximum benefit to employees and the organization.

    Responsibilities :

  • Oversee the competencies framework for the organization
  • Develop, implement, and monitor training programs organization-wide
  • Develop, implement, and monitor mentorship programs organization-wide
  • Identify and assess current and future training and development needs of the organization
  • Produce training materials for in-house training
  • Evaluate outsourced training options to determine the best decision for ESC Automation Inc.
  • Consult with managers and other team leads to determine needs
  • Work with management staff to determine training gaps in existing training and make amendments to ensure proper training is delivered to all staff
  • Develop and organize training manuals, educational materials, and any other items used for training
  • Participate in the orientation programs for all new hires, evaluating its effectiveness and implementing changes as needed
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in the field of training and development by attending seminars, workshops, webinars, etc.
  • for continuous learning opportunities

  • Oversee the training and development team (Future)
  • Train instructors and managers in techniques and skills for training and coaching employees
  • Evaluate instructor’s performances and effectiveness of training programs being delivered, working towards continuous improvements
  • Provide ongoing coaching to training and development team
  • Develop annual budgets and plans for the training and development department
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Main skills required :

  • Mechanical and mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to create and provide innovative training solutions
  • Ability to develop LMS programs
  • Proficient in public speaking (Small and Large audiences)
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Proficient in independent thinking and decision making
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong business acumen including budget and resource planning
  • Strong knowledge and application of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Multimedia software
  • Results Orientated
  • Experience required :

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or certification in an applicable program
  • 5) years of work experience in the construction industry preferred

  • Ability to develop and implement successful and effective training and development programs and activities
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and multimedia required
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
  • Extensive people management skills
  • Experience dealing with third parties, consultants, and training specialists
  • Experience with learning management systems
  • Proven ability to implement and manage budgets
  • Proven ability to design and implement different forms of training and development
  • Ability to travel up to 30% for key internal meetings. This individual will be travelling to each branch office every quarter.
