Gi3 : Global Investment and Innovation Incentives.

Deloitte’s Gi3 team is the leading innovation incentives team both in Canada and globally. We are currently expanding our tech SR&ED team across the country, and we are seeking software and telecommunications specialists to join our professionals in Saskatoon and / or Winnipeg.

Initially your role will focus on developing core skills in preparing SR&ED tax incentive claims under the mentorship of senior practitioners.

As you build skills and knowledge, your role will expand to include scoping and interviewing, sales, audit defense, and building client relationships.

You will be challenged with more complex and strategic projects on the path to becoming a trusted business advisor, and gain a broader view of business challenges and solutions beyond SR&ED.

Our clients range from technology startups to large Canadian and global companies. As a SR&ED technology professional at Deloitte, you will :

  • Be technically curious, and interested in new technological developments of all kinds. Keep current with innovative developments in hardware, software, telecommunications and related industries;
  • Communicate with our clients to understand their technology, products and operations to determine which of their R&D activities qualify for SR&ED tax incentives;
  • Communicate through technical project reports how the client’s R&D activities meet the eligibility requirements for the SR&ED tax credit;
  • Assist our clients in compiling their available documentation as supporting evidence for their SR&ED claims;
  • Assist clients with defending their claims reviewed by the Canada Revenue Agency;
  • Plan, organize and execute engagements on time and on budget.

    To succeed in this role it’s you will need to demonstrate the following :

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a software or telecommunications technology development role
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing quickly, persuasively, and concisely
  • Strong listening skills
  • Ability to learn, synthesize, and describe complex technical subjects
  • The ability to work independently within a high performance team
  • Curiosity about how things work and how they can be improved
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with both non-technical client management and their technical staff
