PrimaryDuties Include

  • Drafting various legal documents, including but not limited to documents related to articles of incorporation, amalgamations, dissolutions, and complex tax reorganizations
  • Drafting application of records, motions fordirection, affidavits, Wills and Powers of Attorney, etc.
  • Maintain and update minute books for corporations and trusts;
  • Preparing releases, receipts, directions and otherroutine documents in estate administrations
  • Conduct corporate due diligence and report
  • Assisting in assembling information on assets andliabilities for estate administration purposes including correspondence withfinancial institutions, CRA, executors, beneficiaries Organize and maintain files and financial records;
  • Greeting clients and visitors and answering visitor inquiries;
  • Answering and routing all incoming telephone calls;
  • Maintaining, scheduling and set-up of meetings;
  • Other duties as required
  • Required Experience / Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Corporate / Estates Law
  • Law Clerk Diploma or Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certificate (or equivalent); university degree preferred
  • Experience with Excel, PCLaw, Word and Outlook, ESC and / or Cyberbahn, Taxnet, Tax find
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional time-management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Availability to work overtime, when necessary
