  • Position Responsibilities WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR (AFTERNOON SHIFT)
  • Follow safety procedures and comply with all related safety and security regulations. Take action to correct unsafe work habits.
  • Operate equipment safely. Report and / or correct unsafe work conditions as appropriate.

  • Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly condition in accordance with established housekeeping standards.
  • Comply with the facility environmental policy and any applicable operational controls in order to meet the established environmental objectives and targets.
  • Comply with the facility’s World Class Manufacturing principles in order to meet the established targets and objectives.
  • The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Supervisor is to supervise the distribution, operation, and coordinate the shipping / receiving department workload for the designated shift.
  • Supervise salaried and hourly employees and establish work priorities for all assigned warehouse personnel.
  • All Material Handling Operators for designated shift
  • Shipping / Receiving clerk(s)
  • Shunting Operator(s)
  • This supervision includes maintaining safe operating equipment and a safe working area in the warehouse and outside rack storage areas.
  • Equipment is properly defined as safe forklift trucks, and other mechanical devices used by the Material Handling Operators.

  • Supervise production handling requirements to ensure compliance related to the issuing of raw materials and finished product.
  • Maintain movement of all conveyances on a timely basis.

  • Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Maintain a functional stock locating system that allows for proper FIFO stock rotation of raw material and finished product.
  • Coordinate the shunting and trailer movement at offsite support facility.
  • Responsible for upgrading systems and layout to optimize product flow, manpower and equipment utilization.
  • Ensure compliance of all safety rules, regulations and procedures through monthly safety meetings. Also monitors operator’s performance of discrepancies and any product or property damage.
  • Follow-up is implemented with appropriate corrective action.

  • Monitor raw materials, assists with cycle counts and advises the schedulers and manufacturing on stock outs or overages.
  • Prepares and submits weekly performance reports and daily time and attendance exception reports.

  • Guidance and Direction Received Independently runs the shift shipping, receiving and warehousing operation.Ensures that all procedures and company policies are followed through the direction of the Distribution and Supply Manager (Materials Manager).
  • Knowledge Required Secondary school diploma, post-secondary diploma an asset.Computer and keyboarding skills.Knowledge of inventory control systemsAPICS Certification, forklift knowledge and training.
  • Proficient in supervisory skills and knowledgeable in warehouse fundamentals.Valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate
