The Mission Critical Environments (MCE) - Standards team plays an integral role in the transformation of the space, power and HVAC infrastructure required to support the evolution of TELUS services.

This team ensures the requirements and expectations of our customers are met today and in the future.

You will be a part of a highly technical team of Engineers & Design Specialists with expertise in the field of space, power, and cooling infrastructure and standards.

In this role you will apply your keen knowledge of mechanical and / or electrical systems design to help build next generation power and cooling systems.

You will work with an inspiring team of planners and project managers to implement infrastructure upgrade projects located in Network & Information Technology (IT) data centers and technology buildings.

The Engineer II role will expand your expertise in mission critical environments in a world class work environment.

  • Design Drawing Review & Approvals :
  • Noted for reviewing and approving technical engineering design drawings and / or methods of procedures (MOP) on behalf of the standards team Known for supporting the design development and review processes on behalf of the Standards team Sought out for your ability to perform detailed design reviews to ensure that the TELUS architecture standards, industry codes, and best practices are being met Recognized for providing technical support and guidance to the project implementation team through-

    out all phases of the design Respected for regularly engaging with planners, project managers, design engineering consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors

  • Support Method of Procedure (MOP) Reviews :
  • Committed to the review and approval of technical change MOPs to ensure that the proposed work activity is safe and reliable Valued for your technical guidance and feedback to the project team on any corrective actions Sought out for your ability to provide training and coaching on MOP processes and procedures and your drive for continuous optimization of the review process Respected for your support of after hour urgent or emergency MOP reviews and approvals

    Qualifications

    You're the missing piece of the puzzle

  • University degree in Engineering with a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or proven eligibility; alternatively with a college diploma and Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation in addition to a minimum 5 years of experience in mission critical facilities
  • Regarded as an exceptional communicator with the ability to articulate highly technical concepts and recommendations to a technically diverse audience
  • Applauded as a team player with high a level of engagement
  • Flexible to travel to site when required
  • Great-to-have

  • Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) designation from Uptime Institute
