Hired before Graduation

Before you know it, your Care Team Assistant (CTA) / Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) program will be complete and you’ll be looking for the ideal job

We’re pre-hiring CTAs while still in school completing certification! To be considered for this program, you must be currently enrolled in a continuing care assistant program from either a Nova Scotia community college or private career college in Nova Scotia.

Helping You Get Ahead of the Game

We abide by the same credentialing and immunization criteria as the hospitals in which we serve, so we must gather all required information before an employee starts work.

This can delay a start date by weeks, but through the Launch Your Career Student Program we provide you the checklist of required immunizations and certificates helping you get prepared before graduation to start working as soon as you receive your graduation certificate from school!

  • Proof of measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV), tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis and hepatitis b
  • Proof of negative TB skin test within the past one (1) year or negative chest x-ray within the past five (5) years
  • Willing to undergo a Basic Police Check as a condition of hire
  • Must have clinical experience as a PSW / CTA within your respective program
  • Current BCLS-HCP (Healthcare Provider)
  • Current N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate

    12hour shifts. Due to our sizable list of hospital clients, we cut lost commuting time out of your day by securing shifts closer to home -

    enabling you to meet personal commitments. Even better is the opportunity to learn from our diverse unit experiences as it inspires confidence to take on any new challenge, no matter which hospital you work in.

    Exclusive Contracted Staffing Provider to Central Zone Hospitals

    Your role will be working in a wide range of acute care unit types such as continuing care, medical / surgical, intensive care, emergency, rehabilitation and so much more.

    We hold primary staffing provider contract with 12 hospital sites throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) and surrounding regions.

    Check out all our assignment locations! You only need to apply once to this program, so please state your preferred work locations in your cover letter and we’ll take care of the rest!

    Choose How Often You Want to Work

    Maybe you don’t know where you want to work permanently post-graduation, and that’s ok! Whether you want to work with us full-

    time, part-time, or casually, you choose what best suits your needs.

  • Shifts are eight (8) and twelve (12) hours in length, depending on facility placement needs
  • Must be able to be scheduled for assignments that are considered urgent / last minute / early morning (e.g. called for assignments within 2 hours or from start of shift)
  • Flexible to work all shifts (days, evenings, and nights), including weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays
  • Required to work two (2) weekends per month (A "weekend" is defined as shifts covering the period from 3pm on Friday to 07 : 30am on Monday)
