The role is to fill under Laurentian Bank a subsidiary of the Laurentian Bank Financial Group.
The Credit Administration Officer, Mortgage Underwriting is responsible for all activities after a mortgage application has been approved up to the point of funding the mortgage.
Key responsibilities include :
The role also involves responding to inquiries from internal and external clients and providing a consistent level of customer service in accordance with LBC Tech service level standards, policies, and procedures.
º Preprocessing incoming documents in the company's work flow system ensuring documents are attached to the correct mortgage file and labelled correctly.
º Reviewing and approving documentation as received within established Service Level Standards ("SLAs").
º Confirming income rationales and down payment rationales in liaison with underwriters.
º Engaging the underwriter / management when supporting documents do not satisfy company policies / conditions.
º Communicating and conducting administrative follow-ups with mortgage brokers / internal teams / other third parties via email, fax and telephone as required.
For example : follow up for outstanding documentation needed to close a mortgage (employment information, proof of down payment, appraisal etc).
º Entering mortgage data into Excel and other internal systems, generating client documents, and sending client and solicitor instructions to third party service providers.
º Managing activity pipeline to ensure superior service is provided and file requirements are understood and met well ahead of schedule closing date.
º Responding to inquiries from various internal and external clients and ensuring that the highest level of customer service is delivered.
º Ensuring daily work is completed and addressing any outstanding issues with manager.
º Submitting recommendations to improve work processes to manager.
º Keeping up-to-date on the applicable legislation, as well as on the Bank's policies, programs, procedures, and market trends.
º Participating in special projects and carrying out any other similar or general tasks at the request of their manager or that may be required by their function.
º Post-secondary degree or diploma
º 2 to 3 years of related work experience related to administration in an underwriting or credit environment with a bank or trust company
º Familiarity with mortgage underwriting / mortgage lending practices is required.
º Strong verbal and written communication in French & English. This is required in order to manage relationships with internal and external parties including mortgage brokers and third party service providers.
º Detail-oriented and focused on accuracy.
º Excellent organizational and time management skills.

º Proven analytical skills with ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data.
