Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) one of the world's premier sports and entertainment companies, owns the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), Toronto Raptors (NBA), Toronto FC (MLS), Toronto Argonauts (CFL), Toronto Marlies (AHL), Raptors 905 (NBA D-League), TFC II (USL) and Raptors Uprising Gaming Club, the Toronto Raptors Esports franchise in the NBA 2K League.

Job Description

As a valuable member of the Human Resources team, you will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge you have gained in school while developing your HR skills and learn how HR plays in supporting key business strategies.

As an HR Intern you will work collaboratively with the HR team and be given meaningful opportunities to add value to our business.

  • Provide assistance in Human Resource administration (assist with filing and keeping our filing system organized and up-to-date).
  • Participate in the recruitment process by posting positions, screening resumes, conducting phone screen interviews, booking face-to-face interviews and interviewing when needed.
  • Participate in project-based initiatives and other related requests as required (grievance tracking, employee recognition program, Service Canada inquiries, WSIB meetings).
  • Attend and assist with job fairs as required.
  • Assist with general administrative support and contribute to other Human Resources initiatives as required including independent projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information and documents and conduct oneself in a professional manner.
  • Review templates and documents on a shared computer network.
  • Adhere to all MLSE service standards and policies including Health & Safety Act.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution with a focus in Human Resources
  • Previous Human Resources experience is a definite asset
  • Confident user of MS Office and Excel
  • HRIS experience an asset
  • Available to work traditional business hours and evenings or weekends as needed
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to exercise diplomacy and tact at all times
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines
