Our client, a fast growing beauty company is hiring a head of production to join their etobicoke location.
The Head of Production leads day-to-day manufacturing operations and ensures the department run reliability and efficiently.
Working location : Etobicoke
The primary functions
Manage and evaluate machine resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime
Oversee a workforce of 200+ employees in the production department by creating schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels
Oversee production processes; Plan and organize production schedules; manage timeline and ensure all areas of the department are productive
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, personnel skills and training needs, department space requirements, and equipment layout.
Work with QA / QC department to determine, implement and document quality control standards
Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines by selecting materials for purchase, budget and forecast raw materials and labor to meet production goals
Ensure all employees follow company GMP policies and procedures as well as industry standard health and safety guidelines
Supervise and manage the work of junior staff; establish consistent schedules, breaks, and paid time off (PTO) protocol to maintain an efficient work environment.
Set production goals and communicate them to key personnel and staff regularly.
Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity
Qualifications & Experience
Proven 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations with at least 7 years in a management capacity a must.
Must have specific work experience in cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food industry.
Minimum of a Bachelors’ degree a must with lean manufacturing training and experience preferred.
Ability to create and monitor KPIs to accurately forecast daily / weekly / monthly production targets to meet production demands.
Ability to develop and introduce best-in-class master production scheduling practices through a thorough evaluation of the current planning and production processes.
Strong project management, organizational, analytical and computer skills including
Microsoft Office and applicable proprietary software applications with ability to integrate new technology (ERP systems) into an existing business environment.
Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety
Working knowledge of OSHA and ESA and GMP standards and regulations preferred
