Flowserve is looking for an experienced Machinist to work on a variety of manual machines to produce high quality parts for the pump industry.

This is role at our air-conditioned, clean, well-organized Manufacturing facility in Woodbridge Ontario. Experienced with setup and operation of engine lathe, Bridgeport mill, drill press

Able to read and interpret blueprints - Identify hand dressing, polishing and under-filing needs as per drawings.

Adept with common inspection measuring equipment

Statically and dynamically balance impellers.

May include hydro-testing, bi-metal and lapping of casings.

Daily use of air tools to remove material from castings in a high precision manner

Able to perform part self-inspection and make necessary setup corrections if required

Able to analyze manufacturing and tooling problems and formulate solutions

Adhere to and maintain quality work practices, qualifications, and procedures

Adhere to all Safety Procedures & Policy.

Able to make good decision and make strict deadlines in fast paced environment

Easily adapt to change as required, especially those related to the needs of scheduling and last minute planning

Familiar with Continuous Improvement process

Position Requirements :

High School diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge of manufacturing practices in a machine shop or industrial setting.

Possess a strong mechanical aptitude.

Establish and maintain open lines of communications with all associates.

Good time management and organizational skills.

Able to handle work accurately and swiftly under tight time constraints.

Work overtime hours as needed, including weekends.

Computer literate.

Ability to read and follow route sheets / blue prints.

Work well with people.

Strong communication skills.

Self Starter.

Take the initiative and ownership for their area.

Able to resolve problems quickly.

High level of organization skills.

Preferences :

Understand the product and process flow of specific department

Experience with dressing and balancing is preferred
